Most of the content on TheGrubHound is related to restaurant reviews, but I thought it would be interesting to look at some quality cookware. It’s been said that a painting is only as good as the materials that went in to painting it. Now, I don’t entirely agree with that saying, but I do think it applies more to the culinary arts than the fine arts. I’m not the best of cooks – however I do love kitchen gadgets and stuff.

While perusing the web I came across an interesting site – Truly the Finesy – that is full of kitchen gadgets, appliances – all sorts of great things for the home. So I was thinking that if the materials used to prepare a meal are helpful in improving the overall meal – this is a great place to shop. I’ve had my cookware for about twenty years and I’m thinking that it’s time to upgrade to copper cookware. I’ve heard great things about it – and it would certainly look good hanging in my kitchen – even if I never use it!

After the cookware, I decided to check out an Avanti refrigerator. This is something I’ve always wanted and the size and quality of these refrigerators leave nothing to be desired. We just added an office to our house and we’ve been contemplating if we should get one of these mid-sized refrigerators for the office. Avanti makes an excellent apartment size refrigerator that would be perfect for the office.

Last, while still at Truly the Finest, there’s one additional item that I’ve been considering for some time and guess what – they also have it! A John Boos butcher block. These butcher blocks are more like a piece of fine furniture. In fact, I’m quite certain that if I had a John Boos gathering block – I’d definitely be able to prepare a decent meal.
