The Boyertown Bears Den, is one of our favorite Boyertown restaurants. The Cheese Steaks are so good that Lizzie and I would love to have them at least once a week. I last reviewed the Bears Dens Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches, which I still also recommend if ham n cheese is your favorite type of hoagie.

Below is a little video I made when we went and picked up a Cheese Steak for lunch. I would have taken a longer video but there were other patrons enjoying their lunch, and I really don’t like taping when others are trying to eat.

If you get a Chance to enjoy the food at the Bears Den, let them know you read about them on Thegrubhound.
Where are the best sandwiches you have had?

February 19th, 2008Taco Bell - Chalupa

I am not in the habit of eating Taco Bell or other fast foods, but I do have cravings for it every now and then. The other night as I was driving home from visiting my kids, the only thing that was appealing to me was a Burrito Supreme.

I did get one of those, but I also got a Chalupa. But being my eyes are bigger than my belly, I was unable to eat the Chalupa, and ended up eating it for Breakfast several days later. That was when I made the following Taco Bell Metoday video.

As you can see from the video, I as many people, do have past associations with fast food that I really try not to indulge. Being a 40+ adult, I really think I can make better nutritious decisions about the things I stick in my body.

How about you, do you get fast food craving as well?

February 6th, 2008Fastnachts from Rt 100 Deli

Did you get your fastnachts?

Today was Fat Tuesday, the day before Lent begins. Here in Boyertown there are any number of places you can get them to include the local grocery stores. But the best ones I am told are from The RT 100 Deli. Lizzie and I were driving back home from a business meeting in Fogelsville, and we decided to stop.

Crab Cake Sandwich

The RT 100 Deli, is a small little place that you would probably pass if you were not paying attention. From the few times that I have been in to the deli, I can say it does seem to have some quality sandwiches and such.

Ralph’s Italian Restaurant, which is the oldest family owned Italian restaurant in the U.S., is located at 760 S. 9th St. Philadelphia,PA 19147.

Ralph's Italian Restaurant

Ralph’s is known for having authentic Italian food, so much so that when I was telling my bro that I was going into Philly for Italian, he asked me if we were going to Ralph’s, which he himself has never been too, but has heard it is awesome.

Initially, I when we got to Ralph’s, we were under the impression that it was two floors. I then asked Alfred, our awesome waiter, if I could make a video of the restaurant, and he said it would be great, and he would turn on the lights on the third floor so I could include that in the restaurant review video as well. Thanks Alfred.

What We Had at Ralph’s

Ralph’s specialties include Veal dishes and other Italian specialties such as linguine Pescatore or Eggplant Parmigiana. Lizzie had the Sausage and Peppers Italian Specialty, our friend Adelaide had Ravioli and meatballs, and I had the Veal Rollatine which is veal with Mozzarella, Prosciutto in a a Mushroom White Wine Sauce.

Watch my shaky restaurant review video to see a synopsis of our meal, and a brief walk through of all three floors of Ralph’s.

Check out Ralph’s Italian Restaurant’s Recipes page to find the family’s recipes that they share with everyone…I particularly want to try their meatball recipe…Adelaide gave me one of hers, and it was one awesome meatball.
