The Bear Creek Restaurant, The Grille at Bear Creek is a great place to eat any time of year. If you are unfamiliar with Bear Creek, it is a ski resort outside of Allentown, PA. Not a huge resort with a tremendous amount of slopes like out west, but for the locals it is a great retreat that does not take hours to get to.

Sadly, this year I was unable to get out and enjoy the slopes at Bear Creek, but last year, I had both my son and daughter out for at least one good day of skiing. For a family that does not ski more than once or twice a year, the slopes of Bear Creek that range from easy to difficult single diamonds are more than enough to challenge our abilities.
Bear Creek, which was formerly known as Doe Mountain, was bought out by same company that owns Killington in Vermont.
The Grille at Bear Creek restaurant is serviced by the Boston Culinary Group and is headed out by Executive Chef Jason Pope, CEC of South Carolina. Looking at their site, I noticed that they have an on site herb garden to guarantee that the herbs they use are fresh.

The only criticism that I have about the Bear Creek Grille is that the water needs to be purified because it had a really bad after taste. That is one of my pet peeves…tsk tsk.
Other than that, I will with out a doubt eat at Bear Creek again. The high quality meal did not give us sticker shock when we got our bill. As a matter of fact, we actually guessed a price that was quite a bit higher than our actual bill.
Bear Creek gets 3.5 stars out of 5, and if they corrected their water situation, would actually rate a whole lot higher.

May 16th, 2008Hard Bean Cafe Boyertown

A new cafe is coming to Boyertown which is badly needed in this small town. I will be doing updates of the local coffee shop as the date for its grand opening gets closer.
