November 8th, 2007Beignets and Cafe Au Late

Monday morning we arose about 530am and took a taxi from LePavillion, our four star hotel, to Cafe Du Monde for Beignets and cafe au lait at the famous vintage New Orleans coffee shop.
The Beignets come in orders of 3, so we got six since we ordered an order for two. Lizzie had two and I had four of the powdery little treats.
Upon entering the cafe, we took a seat and a waitress wearing a paper Cafe Du Monde hat took our order. The menu is very simple, with a few varieties of coffee and the only food, beignets.
If you don’t have the chance to go to New Orleans, you can always order your beignets and coffee from the CafeDuMonde Online store.

November 8th, 2007Garden Harvest Salad at Panera

Panera Garden Harvest Salad

Lizzie and I stopped off at the Panera off of the 422 Trooper exit on our way back from New Orleans. I ordered the Garden Harvest salad which was quite delicious, and Lizzie ordered a crispini. I also had a bowl of the potato soup which was fine, but certainly not a favorite.
I frequently go to Panera during my sons hockey practices, so Lizzie has to hear when I have a meal there, because I am usaully IMing her while I am eating…you have to love Panera’s free Wifi.

CheeseCake Factory - King of Prussia

We were itching to do something, and instead of going to the casinos we decided to try the cheesecake at the Cheesecake CheeseCake at Cheesecake Factoryfactory. After checking out the website, we discovered that there are four Cheesecake Factories in PA, and one located about 25 miles from us at the King of Prussia mall.
Lizzie did a little Googling, and found some reviews for The Cheesecake factory, with more than one bad one, but also a few raving reviews as well.
Bearing in mind that this is a franchise restaurant, we decided to head off to try their cheesecake.
With the reviews at the back of our minds, we were both pleasantly surprised the Cheesecake Factory. We did not get anything off of their extensive dining menu, but did check it out, and will have to go back another time for a real meal.
Lizzie had the Turtle Cheese Cake(middle), and I had the Chocolate Moose Cheesecake(left). Mine was a little too cold when I first started eating it, and as a result was a little too firm, but the left overs were mouth watering. Lizzie’s Cheesecake was amazing, and I would have to say that we would both highly recommend the Carmel Pecan Turtle Cheesecake.
So my wife and I both give the Cheesecake Factory a thumbs up for the Cheesecake, and will do another review of some of the dinner menu items.

May 3rd, 2007Talarico Sandwich Shop

Talarico Sandwich Shop[(610)367-2209] of Boyertown is a Mom and Pop sandwich shop run by Ralph and Shelly Talarico. They don’t have a website, fax machine or a deep Talarico Sandwich Shopfrier, so french fries are not an option. However, delicious sandwiches are an option . The picture shows Talarico’s Business card in front of what was a 13″ large italian with extra cheese thankyou. It was a delicious sandwich in its own, eventhough Lizzie said the roll was not Conshohocken bread.

Hot dogs on the grill and the availability of Coleslaw make this an addition to the Slaw dog list, even though I have not as of yet had one. But I will in the not too distant future.

Taliarico Sandwich Shop has varied hours through out the season. In the summer, they are closed Sunday and Monday. Their hours range from 1030-730twth to 1030-8 F, 1030-9Sat. Call ahead to be sure. 13' Italian From Talarico
