I am not in the habit of eating Taco Bell or other fast foods, but I do have cravings for it every now and then. The other night as I was driving home from visiting my kids, the only thing that was appealing to me was a Burrito Supreme.
I did get one of those, but I also got a Chalupa. But being my eyes are bigger than my belly, I was unable to eat the Chalupa, and ended up eating it for Breakfast several days later. That was when I made the following Taco Bell Metoday video.
As you can see from the video, I as many people, do have past associations with fast food that I really try not to indulge. Being a 40+ adult, I really think I can make better nutritious decisions about the things I stick in my body.
How about you, do you get fast food craving as well?

I just added the Mexican Food category, and thought I would write a Mexican Food post to start it off. This is a great pic because of all the wonderful colors. The guacamole looks delicious as well as the chile sauce. I am so hungry for Mexican food right now, maybe I can talk Lizzie into going out for some.
I had an interview at Unreal Marketing last week. Thankfully, I didn’t get the position because upon entering the office area, I really started to feel very uneasy. Must have been the bad Feng Shui of all the office workers in their cubicles.
Anyway, after the interview was over, I went in search of the Conshohocken Italian Bakery for bread. I first ended up going to an Italian eatery where I ordered three sandwiches(crab cake sandwich, a hoagie, and a chicken sandwich) since they used the Conshy bakery for their rolls.
Lizzie tells me that if the sandwiches are any good, they get their bread from the Conshy bakery.
CD’s Place in Boyertown, PA has the holiday decorations up which makes this Rock n Roll nostalgic diner a great place to visit before going out shopping for breakfast.
Monday morning we arose about 530am and took a taxi from LePavillion, our four star hotel, to Cafe Du Monde for Beignets and cafe au lait at the famous vintage New Orleans coffee shop.
The Beignets come in orders of 3, so we got six since we ordered an order for two. Lizzie had two and I had four of the powdery little treats.
Upon entering the cafe, we took a seat and a waitress wearing a paper Cafe Du Monde hat took our order. The menu is very simple, with a few varieties of coffee and the only food, beignets.
If you don’t have the chance to go to New Orleans, you can always order your beignets and coffee from the CafeDuMonde Online store.
I had never had Borscht before this brief stop, but if this is what it tastes like everywhere, I am now a fan. It was so good, just thinking about it makes my mouth water.
Stop in at the Mapleleaf Restaurant for some great European food.
Next time Lizzie and go back to Gan, we are surely going to stop for a schnitzel and a beer as well as another bowl of borscht…I can hardly wait to visit the Thousand Islands again.
Well if your here its most likely because Ive come around to your restaurant to offer to do a food review. In the next couple of days you should be seeing a lot of changes to this site both in the look and content. Upcoming reviews as scheduled Durando’s saloon, Sweet Begining’s and Carmelo’s pizzeria. I would also like to review The red hills tavern, The Grill shop, Argento’s, Panda Garden, and thats just to name a few but as of right now none of them have gotten back to me. We will se how it goes. To those of you who have agreed thanks and hope you like what you see
Bubba’s Pot Belly Stove outside of Quakertown was our destination last night. We were originally going to meet some friends for dinner, but they had to cancel on us due to an emergency. So Lizzie and I decided to go anyway because we both had been there years ago. Bubba’s is known for several things, the pot belly stove just inside the establishment being one. The others are the French Onion soup, the awesome burgers, and the steaks. Lizzie and I both however, chose to ignore our past experiences and chose to order other items. I got some huge sea scallops with Spanish rice, and Lizzie ordered what she quite frequently gets, crab cakes. The meals were quite adequate, but we both agree that ordering burgers would have been a better choice. But our growing pants sizes require that we both eat a little more of a Mediterranean diet to not only reduce our pants sizes, but to also reduce our cholesterol.
We will again visit Bubba’s Pot Belly Stove, but will only do so when we crave one of Bubba’s delicious burgers. The rustic log cabin atmospher of Bubba’s and its above average faire make it a great place for families and anyone who wants a great meal to dine. Burgers and beer are two things that make Bubba’s one of my favorite places from my past that I will continue to visit.
A Boyertown diner with unique character is a good way to describe CD’s Place (610-367-6734)located at 237 N Reading Ave in Boyertown has a classic diner menu with a few non traditional items that make it a quality diner and my favorite diner in not only Boyertown, PA , but all of Berks County. As mentioned in a prior post, Cd’s has “The Slaw Dog” which is one of my favorite items on the menu to order for lunch. Two slaw dogs and some cottage fries make a quality lunch that will not leave you hungry. CD’s has specials that run from Sunday to Sunday, and usually consist of a breakfast special omelet, a lunch special which is frequently a wrap( had a turkey, with Russian dressing the other day that was mouth watering), and a soup. Cd’s soups are legendary in the Boyertown area, and frequently run out, so if you get there at the wrong time you might miss out.
The diner is decorated with a variety of RocknRoll memorabilia such as concert tickets stubs and album covers under glass on the counters, a collage of various music celebrities that was painted by the owners daughter, and various instruments hanging around. Chris Dietz, the owner certainly has an eclectic taste in music. Check out the counters for a sampling of his music taste or just stop in and listen to what ever groovy tunes happen to be playing while you dine.
CD’s Place can be found by getting off of Rt 100 at the Gilbertsville exit and heading into Boyertown, you can head towards Gilbertsville on Reading Ave off of Main St. The Boyertown Diner is open at 7am M-Sat and 8am on Sunday, and closes at 2pm M-W and Saturday, and is open til 7 on Thursday and Friday. Sunday they close at noon and only serve breakfast. (610) 367-6734. Take out is available.
Lizzie’s clan is always there at about 8am on most Saturdays for breakfast, so if you get a chance stop on in and tell em Lizzie sent you.
