
Tuna on a Conshohocken Italian Bakery Roll

I had an interview at Unreal Marketing last week. Thankfully, I didn’t get the position because upon entering the office area, I really started to feel very uneasy. Must have been the bad Feng Shui of all the office workers in their cubicles.
Anyway, after the interview was over, I went in search of the Conshohocken Italian Bakery for bread. I first ended up going to an Italian eatery where I ordered three sandwiches(crab cake sandwich, a hoagie, and a chicken sandwich) since they used the Conshy bakery for their rolls.
Lizzie tells me that if the sandwiches are any good, they get their bread from the Conshy bakery.

Cutillo’s Appetizer

The Roasted Red Pepper appetizer at Cutillo’s is a nice start to an amazing meal that ended with Lizzie’s hot fudge Chocolate Cake.
Godmother Filet Tips Stroganoff at Cutillo’s was awesome. Started out with a salad with house dressing, then this entre. We then had deserts which were mouth wateringly good. I had the Pecan Cheesecake, and Lizzie had the better of the two desserts, which was the hot fudge chocolate cake.

Last Wednesday, we had a craving for Zeps from Eve’s Lunch, and after calling and finding out that Eve’s is still closed, we decided to head out to Moccia’s (pronounced mow-shaz) Train Stop.
Moccia’s has really good food to include their Zep’s. Lizzie ordered a Zep, I ordered an Italian. Both sandwiches were about 20″ each, so neither of us was able to eat more than a quarter of either sandwich. Which was great because, I love leftovers.
For great Italian food in the Delphi Junction, some great sandwiches, and the model trains, stop in at Moccia’s Train Stop.

My daughter was given the choice of where to eat last night, so she chose Ti Desco Ristorante and Pizzeria in Kutztown located next to Weis Market, the local grocery store.
I have stopped there several times, but only for a slice of pizza, which is a good local pizza shop pizza. My daughter wanted to eat in, which was a first.
So we get our menu’s(very nice menu by the way) and the very friendly waitress brings us our Coke products(we both got rootbeer). I mention this because Lizzie, my wife, is a Coke fan,and much prefers Coke to Pepsi.
The waitress informed me that they make their own bread, so after waffling about getting a salad or a sandwich, I chose a ham and cheese, a house salad(not shown), hot chicken wings, and a slice of plain for my daughter.
The salad I must say was very fresh. The lettuce was very crisp, with not a sign of brown leaves, the tomatoes, were perfect as well and it was toped off with the house dressing which made a perfect side salad.
Now the Sandwich, was not the largest sandwich, but the bread was some of the best bread I have had in quite some time. I would even put it up there with Conshohocken bread…yea it’s that good. The bread was so good, that I came back at 9pm just before closing to buy a couple of rolls for Lizzie.
This sandwich I would go so far as to say was the best sandwich I have had in Kutztown.
So for some really good sandwiches, and other Italian food, stop in and check out Ti Desco Ristorante and Pizzeria.

LePavillion Dining room

Lizzie and I ate in the LePavillion Crystal Dining room on during their All Saints brunch, which is held anytime the Saints are playing at home on Sunday. The All Saints brunch consists of at least 4 tables of fine buffet dining to include a table of deserts, fruit, cheeses, and the main table with items such eggs, meat and the like.
I had three courses during the All Saints Brunch which consisted the first being fruit, cheeses, and a tiny bagel, the second being eggs, bacon, crab leggs, and the last being desert which I shared with Lizzie.
Thankfully we ate this large brunch, because the next meal was not until nearly 8pm after we did our Cajun Encounters tour and ate at the fabulous Mr. B’s which will be another post all together.
Sadly, this was the only meal we were to have at the LePavillion, due to the short nature of our stay, we wanted to experience as much as possible. But I heard via a comment on the New Orleans Weekend post that they also have an awesome Crawdad Sandwich which I will have to try if we ever stay there again.

PoBoy at Acme Oyster House

The first meal we ate while in New Orleans was at the Acme Oyster House because it came highly recommended by both the concierge and a friend of mine.
Our tattooed svelte waitress suggested I order the fried oysters instead of the raw oysters, and so I did. The fired oysters were like heaven in my mouth and as it turns out, Lizzie had one, which turned out to be her first oyster. She also had rave reviews for the fried oysters.
I then had a Peace Maker PoBoy(pictured here) which is a combo Golden fried Oyster & Shrimp with TABASCO® infused mayo, lettuce & tomato. Lizzie had the Red Beans Poopa.
The food was good but the atmosphere was suited more towards a college crowd rather than fine dining.
Beer at Anthony’s
A delicious mug of beer from Anthony’s in Gananoque, Ontario. I believe it was a Gritstone Ale from the Niagara Brew
company. This beer accompanied my meal at Anthony’s. We originally decided to go to Anthony’s because I had done a bit of research and they came up as a place that had a superior rating for poutine, which is french fries covered with cheese curds and gravy.
We only ate off of the lunch menu, but the dinner menu looks to be something that we will need to experience next time in Gan. I also heard they have a great selection of deserts that we will have to sample.
Borscht at MapleLeaf in Gananoque

I had never had Borscht before this brief stop, but if this is what it tastes like everywhere, I am now a fan. It was so good,
just thinking about it makes my mouth water.
Stop in at the Mapleleaf Restaurant for some great European food.
Next time Lizzie and go back to Gan, we are surely going to stop for a schnitzel and a beer as well as another bowl of borscht…I can hardly wait to visit the Thousand Islands again.
The Hershey Lodge’s Forebay was the location for dining last evening. The Forebay has a relaxing rustic barn like atmosphere that has a seasonal menu that changes frequently. The weekly specials included Chocolate-Coverd February German Specials. We started out the meal with a glass of Pinot Noir for Lizzie and a Beck’s for myself. Then along with the variety bread sampler that came with three diferent spreads, we also had the Forebay Chips, which are served with a warm Blue Cheese fondue. Quite tasty indeed. Lizzie then had the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with Spicy Remoulade, which is a sauce for dipping of the crab cakes. Lizzie says that they were definelty on her top ten list for crab cakes, becuase they had large pieces of crab and a scrumptious taste. I had one of the weekly specials, the Hotpot of braised Beef and Brisket with Bread Dumplings, Saurkraut, and Asparagus spears. My opinion…mouth wateringly good. We then topped off the meal with a desert of the Moulten Chocloate cake which had a warm middle, and was topped with whipped cream and served with ice cream. Lizzie gives them Kudos because they allowed her to have chocolate ice cream. Many places only give the choice of vanilla, which I had, and enjoyed. Unfortuenately, the batteries on my camera died and there are no pictures of form the meal.
